Auctions: A Closer Look

You’ve read about them, you’ve heard about them, you’ve probably participated in one. But what exactly are auctions? Isn’t it just the simple method of selling an object to interested people who bid until the highest bidder gets it?

Tribal Community to Historical Village

Previously known as "Panboola" or "Punbula" by the local Indigenous tribe, meaning Twin Waters, the spelling has now transpired to "Pambula".

European settlement first came to Pambula in the late 1830's when the area was used for grazing by the Imlay Brothers. However, the Aboriginal tribe, the Yuin, were well established in the area for thousands of years. They left evidence of their activities in the many oyster middens situated along the Pambula River.

Today, Pambula is a coastal village clinging strongly to its history, with peaceful lakes and idyllic river mouth, it is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of city life.

An absolutely ideal location for family holidays, with estuaries, beaches, lush green pastures and lake in close proximity. Strolling the meandering tracks through the beautiful wetlands is just one way to enjoy Pambula's irresistable charm.

Pambula Beach has a modern (Big 4) caravan park with absolute water frontage. The beach is patrolled in summer, and is a favourite swimming location for a large number of tourists each year.
